Draft — under legal review

This text is an early draft under legal review and may change before it is adopted. Anything marked «[to be set]» is not decided yet. The Arabic text prevails.

These are the terms of use of «المصحف الرقمي» (mus7af). By using mus7af.com or any of its apps you accept them; if you do not, do not use the service.

1. Who we are

mus7af is a service provided through mus7af.com and its apps. The owner's legal name, commercial registration number and address: [to be set].

Contact: [email protected].

2. The service

mus7af offers:

The service is in a beta phase. Some features are «beta» or «coming soon», and we may change or stop them. Reading the Holy Quran in the app is free; the subscription covers extra features.

3. Your account

Some features need an account, including signing in on a TV. You are responsible for the accuracy of your details and for keeping your sign-in secret, and you must tell us at once of any unauthorised use.

We may sign a device out, or suspend an account that breaks these terms. Mosque and school accounts are also subject to their agreement with us.

4. The licence and «الرقمي بلس» (Raqami Plus)

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own non-commercial purposes under these terms. No ownership passes to you.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service:

6. Intellectual property and what is not allowed

The app and the website, their code, design, interfaces and text, the artwork (including the crowns, medals, backgrounds, ornaments and the logo), and the data compilations we made (such as the selection and order of the adhkar, the similar ayat, the detailed tajweed colours, the word timings and the video maps) belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright law.

Without our written permission you may not:

Search engines may index the public pages as robots.txt allows.

7. The Quran text and third-party data

The mushaf text and fonts come from the King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex, stay under its terms, and are never sold. Tafsir, translations, recitations and some data and fonts belong to their owners and stay under their licences; these terms give you no rights in them beyond those licences. The full list with the licences is on the «Sources and licences» page.

Naming a source does not mean that its owner approves or endorses the service. We take care over the text, and the reference is the approved printed mushaf; if you notice a mistake, please tell us at once at [email protected].

8. Children

Children use the service through a parent's or guardian's account and with their consent. The parent creates and controls the children's profiles, and confirms stars, memorisation and rewards.

We do not ask a child for personal data directly. Data is processed under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law and the privacy policy, and a parent can delete it at any time on the «Delete your data» page.

Use by schools: the data processing agreement and the parents' consent: [to be set].

9. Privacy

The Privacy policy explains what we collect and why, how long it is kept, and how to turn it off or delete it. It is part of these terms.

10. Payments

Prices, payment methods, automatic renewal, cancellation and refunds: [to be set]. They will follow the laws in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

11. Updates and availability

We update the service continually, and the TV apps update from the website. The service may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using the service at any time, and delete your data on the «Delete your data» page.

We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, including selling codes or misuse. What ending means for a paid subscription: [to be set].

Sections 6, 7, 13 and 15 survive the end of your use.

13. Liability

The service is provided «as is» and «as available». The tafsir, translations and rulings shown are the human work of their authors.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. The cap on liability: [to be set].

14. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms; the date of the last update is shown at the top. We will tell you of material changes in the app or by e-mail, and using the service after that means you accept them.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The competent body for disputes: [to be set]. If a translation differs from the Arabic text, the Arabic text prevails.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected].
